Recognize process risks – act preventively
Module 7: Regulations and Prevention
Target Audience: Works Councils, Hygiene Officers, and Hygiene Staff
Seminar Objective:
Identify process risks in the sterilization chain to install preventive measures in occupational safety regulations, operational processes, and for the prevention of nosocomial infections (NI) and the spread of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDRO) through consistent risk management in the sterilization process.
According to the Works Constitution Act (BetrVG), works councils have special responsibilities in occupational safety, which are implemented in operating instructions, occupational safety regulations, and, if applicable, company agreements. Regular review of protective measures and their effectiveness enables the works council to identify shortcomings in operational processes early on.
In hospitals, reducing nosocomial infections and preventing the spread of multidrug-resistant organisms are central goals achieved through consistent implementation of infection control and hygiene quality. Increasing demands on structural and process quality, extensive planning and documentation obligations, and cross-sectoral infection prevention make the tasks for hygiene officers in hospitals increasingly complex.
Understanding process risks in sterilization enables the development of strategies and measures for preventing nosocomial infections and the spread of multidrug-resistant organisms.
Therefore, works councils and hygiene officers in hospitals play an important role in implementing measures to ensure patient safety.
Our speaker Ralf Kurzrock will work with you to ensure practical workflows in sterilization, derive protective measures, establish quality criteria for existing hygiene measures, and provide recommendations for integrating them into occupational safety measures, operating regulations, and sterilization processes.
